1. CONNECTEDNESS TO NATURE
One of our favorite design trends, is bringing the outdoors in! As more people are enhancing their outdoor living spaces, we are busy taking the scenery that is around the home we are designing and bringing it indoors. We love grabbing color, textures & patterns from the outdoors. Natural colors and natural materials such as jute, ceramic, and concrete make for peaceful retreats. Homes are being designed with more & larger windows throughout.
2. HOUSEPLANT COMEBACK
There is an emphasis on creating calming environments with natural lighting and ventilation. Large trees and live overflowing plants in oversized planters are making a huge comeback. Whether the goal is to bring nature inside or to simply freshen the home with natural hues, live plants are becoming even more popular as we head into 2022. The need to regain our connection to nature continues to grow. Large or small these pieces make a huge impact in a space. Plants can accent any design style. There is a large variety of ways to display them. We are seeing everything from crafty homemade pots to macrame plant hangers to reclaimed wood.
3. LOWER-LEVEL RETREATS
A unfinished basement space is like a blank canvas with endless possibilities, waiting to be transformed. Where you are starting fresh or remodeling, lower-level living is growing quickly. Depending on your needs you can turn it into a guest suite, entertainment areas, kids’ playroom, home theaters, or home gyms. It’s exciting to turn these spaces into multi-purpose that can grow with the family who lives there.
